About Us

Sustainable Development and Policy (SDAP) Center is an NGO established in 2009 by professors of the Georgian Technical University and the Tbilisi State University as a response to growing demand in energy efficiency and renewable energy projects.

The mission of the SDAP Center is to assist the government of Georgia as well as the local public to carry out analyses of processes and phenomena associated with the concept of sustainable development, to elaborate and implement various projects based on these analyses. The SDAP Center aims at providing sustainable solutions to local social and economic development practices with a special emphasis on energy efficiency and renewable energy topics in policy and technology areas.

Intellectual property of the SDAP Centre comprises two developed software tools: Building Energy Passport - the energy performance certification tool as well as Municipal Energy Passport designed for forecasting local energy consumption and developing various energy sector scenarios and associated greenhouse emissions’ projections.

The SDAP Center is led by Dr. Karine Melikidze who holds position of the Director.
